BIO:
Joshua Holcomb is a multi-genre violinist/violist from Kalamazoo, MI.
He is equally at home performing on stage with symphony orchestra or in a barn with a folk band.
He has shared the stage with such iconic musicians as Cellist Yo Yo Ma, Concert Pianist Charlie Albright, Celtic All-Female Supergroup Cherish the Ladies, Electric Rock Violinist Mark Wood (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Jazz Trumpeter Byron Stripling, and Violinist Rachel Barton Pine.
He has also had the incredible honor of recording and performing with some of Michigan’s local legends including Songwriter/Activist Seth Bernard, Hip Hop Cellist Jordan Hamilton, Pop/funk band Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, and Songwriter/Percussionist Dede Alder.
Currently Josh is writing/recording/performing with Kalamazoo mainstays The Red Sea Pedestrians, collaborating with World Percussionist River Ananda in a duo dance music project called Harmonic Roots, performs regularly with the infectiously irreverent All American Funk Parade, performs and records with Folk Singer-Songwriter Kait Rose, and performs a solo show of original compositions and arrangements using an innovative blend of violin, vocals, effects, beats, and live-looping. He also performs regularly with Muskegon’s West Michigan Symphony, and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
